Bellamy Switching to Vols?

There are plenty of reason for Vol fans to be optimistic about its offense the next couple years. They appear to be set at QB, WR, and on the offensive line. However, it is uncertain who will play RB after Taureen Poole leaves after next season. Both David Oku and Rajion Neal have looked promising, but there are rumors that Oku may transfer and Neal has been inconsistent.

With the recent offensive staff changes at Clemson, Vol fans are praying that they can sway 5 star RB Mike Bellamy. Bellamy has freakish speed (10.54 in 100m), is compared to Chris Johnson on his Rivals profile, and has a highlight video that rivals Reggie Bush's coming out of high school. The Punta Gorda, FL RB visited UT for the Ole Miss game, and even though they weren't able to sway him, most experts feel UT would be the team to land Bellamy if he decommitted from Clemson. Bellamy has stated that he is looking to leave the state of Florida and would truly prefer to play in the SEC.

Bellamy told the Infusion Sports Network on Sunday that he was upset with the changes going on at Clemson.

“It does. We are on shaky grounds right now. Honestly I am just going to go talk to my coaches and see what happens later on tonight,” said Bellamy.

One thing Clemson still has going for them is that Bellamy's primary recruiter Brad Scott's job appears to be secure. Scott went to high school with Bellamy's mother and has a close relationship with the family. However, the Vols also have a connection to Bellamy and Port Charlotte High School. UT Quarterbacks Coach Darin Hinshaw was a star quarterback at Port Charlotte back in the 1980's.

You can expect the outspoken Bellamy to speak publicly soon. He said he would have a decision tonight so stay tuned.
