Ray Drew is not your typical 5 star recruit

There may not be a more impressive athlete both on and off the field in the 2011 class as Thomasville, GA defensive end Ray Drew. The 6'5 243-pound lineman is ranked as the #1 player in Georgia and the #15 in the nation by rivals.com. Take a look at his offer list, I guarantee your favorite team has offered the blue chip recruit.

It may be hard for some people to believe that the licensed minister in the first video and the edge rusher in the high light video are the same person. It may not be as hard for fans of the Tennessee Vols, who's all time sacks' leader Reggie White was known as the "Minister of Defense" by his peers. No wonder Drew is at the top of Vols fans wish lists in 2011.

It has been reported that the Vols are in really good shape to land the top player in Georgia for the second year in a roll. Drew has formed a close relationship with UT defensive line coach Chuck Smith, who introduced Drew to his mentor Michael Strahan. Before becoming UT's defensive line coach, Smith worked with several NFL Pro Bowl players like Strahan, Ray Lewis, and Osi Umenyiora and was credited with helping them take their game to the next level.

Drew's recruitment is far from over, but it looks like UGA, Florida State, Auburn, and Tennessee will be in it until the end.
