UT Offer Has Cornerback Rethinking His Illinois Commitment

Glades Day CB J.T. Thornton committed to Ron Zook two weeks ago and was set on becoming an Illini. However, new offers from Tennessee and Wisconsin on Monday almost made him decommit on the spot.

Sources say Thornton was ready to decommit from Illinois on Tuesday morning but a conversation with Ron Zook had smoothed things over. Thornton remains committed to Zook and the Illini, but it's safe to say his recruitment is far from over.

Thornton is a 6'0" CB with long arms and burner speed. He came up big in the state title game last year with 2 INTs, the last sealing the victory for Glades Day in OT.
