MELVIN GORDON, RB, 6-0, 185, 4.5, KENOSHA (BRADFORD), WISCONSIN. Rated the #1 player in Wisconsin
“I went down to Michigan State and Tennessee this summer.” Gordon said
Coached Up With Spartan Coach
“Michigan State has really nice facilities the coaches are great. I actually went out for a camp and Coach Brad Salem got to coach me little bit so that went pretty well. Coach Salem said he liked me and it would be an honor to coach me.” Gordon said
“A running back committed there (MSU) already I still think they want me pretty bad. The Michigan State coaches said to keep in touch.” Gordon said
“Tennessee was great I loved the atmosphere it was as awesome place. You get to see some of the mountains in the background and the people are really nice. I like the running backs coach at Tennessee he’s a guy who coach the players up.” Gordon said
Michigan Offer Uncertain
“I have an offer from Michigan,” Gordon said. “I want to go see them a couple more times. The last few times I went up there they said I was offered but they were really focused on some really good players.”
“When I was up there (UM) head Coach Rich Rodriguez didn’t speak to me at all. I didn’t get a feel from the head coach. I just feel like I wasn’t a guy who was offered.” Gordon said
“I didn’t get to see too much when I was at Michigan. I saw the stadium, Hall Of Fame section, the locker rooms and where the running backs get coached.” Gordon said
Waiting To Hear From Alabama
“I went to Alabama they liked me but I haven’t heard from them. The running backs coach (Burton Burns) said he liked me but had to show the staff my videos and stuff. They (Bama) are recruiting Malcolm Brown his last two choices are Texas and Alabama. I’m not highly ranked as him so they are more focused on him than me.” Gordon said
“I love Alabama the coaches down there are extreme. They would make me something out of me if I went down there.” Gordon said
Updated: Malcolm Brown committed to Texas yesterday.
Hawkeyes Hot After Gordan
“I like Iowa. The head coach Kirk Ferentz and I have a great relationship and the running backs coach Lest Erb. Iowa really likes me a lot. Most of the running backs they have offered already committed to other schools so it’s me Rodney Coe and Darrien Miller.” Gordon said
“I’ve been to Iowa twice I liked it a lot I’m going down there for one of my official visits. I’ve seen a little bit of the school but I really didn’t get to see the campus very much. So I want to check them out.” Gordon said
“It’s nice that Nebraska is going to the Big Ten it will bring more competition to the table. Whatever school I go to SEC or Big Ten going up against Nebraska would be pretty nice.” Gordon said
